I had googled it, to make sure he HAD, in fact, signed... but now in that
context.. yeah.... I get it... Which completely explains how and why!  I
knew he didn't give a shit about animals - so this makes perfect sense.
And, I feel no guilt in removing the one lone point I'd given him!  THANK
YOU!
