Chelsea just had this tonight at a new (actually authentic) Mexican
restaurant. She said it's fantastic. It sounds like a great use
for all the peppers the plants tend to yield. I've never even heard of
it before now and am looking forward to trying it when we visit them.
Pam - you'll appreciate this small tale. :-)
I was planting my bulbs in the dark this year. I like working outside
after dark. I planted all of my trees (19) that way last year. The porch
light and a camping lantern are usually enough to see what I need to see.
But evidently not totally.
I planned out what was going where....and planted them so carefully -
nicely spaced for the most blooming impact and longevity through the
spring and summer. Seems I forgot that some of the unlabeled bulbs in my
bucket were not what I thought I was planting. So smack dab in the
middle of my flowering bulbs is a lovely crop of........... onions. <g>
Ah well, at least they are green.
And this "oops" moment gave me the idea of planting my strawberry plants
along the front of the house in part of my flower beds. Much easier to
manage, less chance of galloping Danes tromping through them and they
will look pretty. Now I'm trying to figure out how to make a pea trellis
that looks nice. ;-)
