That sounds so wonderful, Sheri!
The best part of my day now, is when I take the dogs out in the early morning. This year
has been amazingly cool all summer. Even on the hot days, the mornings have been cool
and pleasant.
Since I have a puppy who is still learning about housebreaking - she's doing great, no
accidents in the house for three weeks or more, but I still like to watch to make sure she's
getting everything 'done' outside - I sit on the deck and watch the dogs out in the yard.
When they are all finished in the yard, they pile up the stairs and all three come over for
morning pats and ear rubs. Then they start wrestling. Or more accurately, "rasslin'". :)
It is so soothing and pleasant for me to sit and listen to the birds and other critters waking up
and starting their morning routines, to watch the dogs playing, and to feel the cool breeze on
my sleep-marked skin. Except for the non-human critters, the mornings are surprisingly
quiet. The occasional car will pass, and if it's late enough the schoolbusses zoom by.
It's a refreshing way to wake up, and now that I'm used to getting up, I don't even mind the
fact that it's so early in the morning!
