Every now and then, the job is satisfying.

It was a silly little thing, but the pdf file from the escrow company had
the signature block spilling onto a second page.  So my boss is supposed to
sign independent of the text?  Not gonna happen.  He was in the other room
all a dither because he couldn't modify the pdf, it has to be on their
letterhead, so he can't retype it and it's gotta be sent in today and....

I had this little "pdf to word" utility that I got from the daily giveaway
site a while again.  I hadn't tried it yet, but while he was slamming papers
around looking for the number to call the escrow company, I fired up the
program and crunched the file.  It worked like a charm.  Deleted a couple
blank lines, shift the bottom margin, and *POOF*.   A one page document.

I walked in and handed it to Joe who said "What's this?  Oh wow!  How did
you do that?  Magic??"

I said "It's complicated.  And you owe me a goat."
It's the little things.
