Be it comfort,cold comfort, or no comfort at all, you are not alone, Tobie.
My wife has similar dreams, I have learned over the years to pay attention
when she tells me about them, just as she has learned to tell me about them
as soon as she can.

The poet Muriel Rukeyser once said that the universe was made of stories,
not atoms. They're not making much progress any more at the sub-atomic
level; maybe stories, and the dream subset thereof, are like the particles
Heisenberg couldn't put his finger on. Maybe you can't pin down the when of
a dream when you already know the what.

I think I like the Rukeyser theory. To paraphrase the Immortal Detective, we
are the stuff dreams are made of.
