Voting machines are quick and accurate .. I think. The trouble is, one must
take a course in "Vote 101" in order to know how to run the machines. Yes,
there is no paper trail, no trail at all. I am sure there were mistakes with
the "X" system, too (where voters marked an "X" in the box next to the
candidate's name. But, in a recount, though unwieldy, the actual ballots could be
recounted. This matter of hanging chads and "the voter's intent' in
recounting is a joke. It also might mean a difference if the recounting staff is
Republican or Democrat. A smudge might mean a Republican recounter guy thinks
the voter meant to vote for the Republican candidate.

Oh, well.

Here in Florida, BOTH candidates for Congress went to the initial meeting
for new members. The one behind by some 377 votes has hired attorneys to
launch a suit. FOR WHAT?? If she is behind after the recount, who does she
intend suing, the recounting staff if they belong to the other party?

Fer crying out loud.

Vote. Count the votes. The one who gets the most, wins. Period.

(whine, whine: I lost, recount the ballots, and if I still don't win . .I"LL
SUE!!!)

I don't care. I'm going to have another cup of blueberry coffee and go out
and watch the horses run.
