TheBanyanTree: I miss you, too

Late at night, when I am reading, I hear a dog shift in its bed, or the wind
pick up in the treetops, and for a moment, I think I hear your voice. It is
so clear I nearly ask, "what? Did you say something?" It's just the wind,
or the dog. You are long gone.

I went shopping the other day, and I recall your impatience at the crowds in
the mall. How you hate the lines, the waiting. I wait in line to get
checked out, and a child cries unceasingly. I get nervous, because at any moment,
you will sigh and I know you want me to leave my goods and get out the there.
I can hear the sigh. But, you are long gone.

I am finally in peace, the bitterness left behind. The lonely nights over.
I like my solitude because its my choice and no one else's. I find good in
my life again, and leave anger to the past.

Still, there are times when I almost hear you, see you, feel you.

And, I miss you, too.
