Oregon is a beautiful state. As soon as we drove over the state line
from California, I sez ter Jena the Full Moon Warrior Princess (FMWP):

"Look! See how different and beautiful the scenery is compared ter
Callyfawnya?"

In response, FWMP jes snorted...she might have jes been clearin her
sinuses, but.

Oregonians don't have much patience fer Callyfawyans...they reckons
they is all idjits. I spect they go by the theory that the closer ter
the equator yer lives, the thicker you is;) Because Callifawnyans keep
invading Oregon, Oregonians have had to take measures ter deal wid
them. Take their road markings, fer example:

Where there are no passing double lines painted in the middle of a
road, there is also a sign painted, "No Passing."

"Why the heck do they stick them No Passing signs onna road where
there is double lines?" complained FMWP, "Everyone knows that double
lines means yer can't pass!!"

"Ah," I explains, "It is fer all them stupid Callyfawnyans, wot has
trouble unnerstanding things like that:))"

FMWP and me was orn our way ter a lil coastal town called Langlois,
wot I never succeeded in pronouncing right. I mean I can pronounce it
the correct French way, but them Oregonians, like all Mercans, has ter
bugger up the pronunciation! We was meeting our friend Dee and some
other loony friends there fer a weekend of booze and debauchery. Dee
had rented a lovely house in a beautiful garden for us for the
weekend.

The weird thing about seein folks fer the fust time after yer has been
emailin em fer years is that there is no surprises. It is as though
you has allus known em. Dee was jes like I expected..a feisty lil
leddy wid a wicked, bubbly sense of humour. She owns a bookshop called the
Crime Scene. This shop is well worth a visit, folks...not only is it
full of crime and detective novels, it is full of skeletons and other
assorted oddities. In fact, this shop is absolutely unique!
