I think I've finally found my calling.
A PITCHER!! WITH FEET!!!
This is a cream pitcher with feet. Sturdy little feet too, from the looks of
it. I'm not sure why you'd want your cream pitcher to have feet, but perhaps
you like Carlton Ware. Or feet. Not that I don't like feet. I just don't
require feet on my serving pieces.
You don't need to require feet in order to quickly develop an immense crush
on this piece and want to have it with you always. A liking of feet will
help, however, but is certainly not necessary. The promise of a good home is
all we ask for. That, and your money. Highest bidder wins and all that.
Normal rules apply.
Shoes are included. Well, yes, they are painted on after all. NOTICE: THIS
PIECE DOES NOT ACTUALLY WALK. (At least not that we've been able to
ascertain from our limited testing.)
This pitcher and its corresponding lid are in pristine condition. The bottom
right foot says Carlton Ware, England, and the bottom left foot says
absolutely nothing at all, which may be regarded as reticence on the part of
Carlton Ware, or as a simple lack of anything useful to say.
This pitcher, and its companion cups for sale in our other auctions, have
lived in my smoke-free but dog friendly home for the past six months or so,
patiently, on a shelf, awaiting the news of a good home. Not that this isn't
a good home, don't get me wrong, it's just not the right home for this
particular pitcher. It's a perfectly fine home for the dog however.
This piece is not, unlike some of its companion pieces, argumentative nor
dissembling, but it does have an odd way of looking at one, as if waiting
for a chance to utter some unutterably foul language when one's back is
turned and then striking a pose of innocence. I don't trust it. Could be a
simple personality conflict, or the piece could be possessed. Strike that
last. (Not a good way to sell a piece, implying it may be possessed.)
There's a story behind this piece, as with the others, but we'll leave that
for now. It does not bear repeating.
This particular piece is NOT chipped.
Anyway. This pitcher. Needs a good home. Good pitcher. Never used since I've
owned it. (People don't really use these, do they?) It patiently awaits your
bid but, like the others, suffers from a lack of patience so may not last
long (and certainly not at this price!)
