For the unburied dead
For dead knights in crushed armor
For the widow and orphan
Both here and out there

For the tears still falling
For dead daddy’s and cops
For lost freedoms, lost peace
For governmental propaganda
Both here and out there

For the “red white and blue”
For laws broken, rights denied
For a planned war yet unjustified
For lies both told and believed
For the heroes and heroines

Black for those who jumped
Black for the passenger missiles
Black for the living
Black for the dying still to come
Both here and out there
