Wellwellwell. Sure, a regular folk would probably wait until it was all
official and crap, then there's me. I get a little too excited for
officialnessingizing. Ok, so it isn't *quite* literal yet but it's way
closer this way then back the other way.

I don't think I ever really wore a size 14 whilst on the way up. I just
wore men's jeans until they tightened up and wore out in the
crot.....erm, uh, the nether area. Then I got rid of them and got the
next size, whatever the waist size said. It wasn't a bad way to do it
but then by the time I was buying women's sizes they all started with a
2.

I didn't know that when the day came to get clothes in size 14 that it
would become something akin to detective work. Just as an aside, if
you're trying to fit into smaller clothes, go to the poshposh stores
first. Your Hudson Belk or Lord and Taylor. The sales are usually
quite good and there always seems to be a clear path to the clearance
rack. So, anyhoo, *they're* women's sizes run a little big, donchya
know, so as to make a person feel better about themselves. So I went to
Hudson Belk's in search of kaki capris. Have a huge passion for both.
Unfortunately, the 14s fit as if made for moi. But this is not good! I
came in with the intent of finding something a little snug as an
incentive in the closet. I like to play fashion show by myself in the
morning (when I feel thinnest!!) and was in need of inspiration. I left
that area and went looking for something I had never had to look for
before. The _other_ clothes. I found cutsie clothes, hip hugging and
low slung. I found children's and men's. I had to ask directions to
the clothes that are for women but not "airquote" women's sizes.
Imagine. I don't even know what they're called if, indeed, they even
have their own name.

Got my kaki capris, though!! :) Very cute, comes up high on the hip
like I like and will ever-need but have a very cool macrame-type belt.
Size 14, is c l o s e to fitting. Nearly. Almost. Just as a good
incentive piece should.

And should be fitting really nicely by the time I see all who can make
it to the farm in PA in August. I'm way excited, I hope you are, too.
I thought I'd let you all know, though, there's less to hug.

Didn't want to shock anyone.

Maria
