TheBanyanTree: I have created a superb sledding area

Even if I do say so myself. ;-)

I tried sledding this morning since we got about a foot of snow last
night, but it was so soft and fluffy the sled kept bogging down. So I
asked for suggestions on Facebook and took friends advice and packed
down a few lanes. First, I dragged (drug?) the shovel over the snow to
create a lane, then I pushed the sled down the mountain with my hands,
headfirst, then trudged allllllll the way back up to do it again.
Finally, I stomped on it as I walked up to pack it down. It worked!

I just came in a few minutes ago. It's so addictive I didn't want to
stop! I kept mumbling to myself "just one more time" as I was trudging
back up to the top. But after about 15 times climbing all the way back
up in the deep snow, common sense did prevail. Plus, night sledding has
it's own unique hazards. One crash into the hidden rocks ensured that I
didn't let the sled go that way again. Or rolled off before I got too
close to them. :-)

But, I made it all the way from the top of the driveway down to the
creek! Flying! Good thing there is well over a foot of snow for
crash-stops <g>

Wow, I am soooooooooo delightfully tired now. I can't wait to try it out
tomorrow with the sun shining to add that extra sheen of slickness to
the top layer of snow.
