I got my helmet first. It was outside my apt. one morning with various
articles of clothing that didn't fit. The helmet did. I figured it was a
sign from above that I was meant to have a bike, so I got a 1972 Yamaha 250
a friend was selling. 

Congratulations on realizing the dream! Just remember you have to always
figure the idjits in cars have it in for you and think ahead to keep them
out of trouble. And always wear your leathers, even if its 100.

I've been doing things in increments.

First I saved up for my chaps. Don't ask me why it was important that I 
get them first.....but somehow they symbolized more than any other piece 
of gear..... that I was truly serious about making this particular dream 
become reality.
