The earlier plans to have my Pug, Pugsey put down were foiled. My gardener was on vacation and I had to wait until he returned so he could dig the grave. Those last days were the hardest I've ever had to face with any pet. My friend said, 'Sharon, he is living on pure love and courage.' And so he was. He was the most courageous little dog ever!
Pugsey finally went to sleep on Monday at noon. If you ever come to visit me in Massachusetts, you might want to visit his grave site. It is behind and slightly to the left of the balancing rock that my son, Patrick installed in my crescent flower bed, on my side of the house near the river, and it is filled with black-eyed Susans that we planted atop the grave.
He lies between two trees with his face to the rising sun, and his favorite toys are with him. His Teddy and his stuffed parrot. I sat on the bench last night with Cammie and just remembered him. What a wonderful doggie he was!!!!
Just thought I would let you know.
