PAIN

The pain
held in check
for so long
rose to the surface
suddenly
surprisingly

Questions arise
Where did they come from
the depths, I thought
now think from nearer
How severe is it
Has it hidden dormant
all these years and
suddenly erupted
smouldering beneath the surface
just waiting for a word
a trigger to ignite it
In it's smouldering
did it do damage
well buried ‘til lately

There's pain
mixed with anger
Pain and Anger
from injustice

Pain from
loss of husband's respect
loss of love as it died
his angry hand
dying marriage
hurting sons, parents
leaving home, friends
having poor lawyer
‘losing' my boys

Anger for
pain of my boys
pain they felt 
because of me
