As a vet tech with some experience in this matter, I suspect his real
question is, "Why do I have this cone on my head?  My butt hurts, too, but
why is this stupid cone on my head?  I wanna lick my butt, but I've got this
awful cone on my head!  Mom, could you please take this cone off my head so
I can lick my butt?"
Once his stitches come out so he can have the cone taken off his head, he
won't mind at all that the two dangly bits are gone.  :)
