TheBanyanTree: rain or shine

I watch the weather channel
every morning, rain or shine,
broadcast in high-def,
from a techno-shiny,
state-of-the-art studio,
because I like to know--
Today: Sunrise 5:44am, overcast, 30% chance of precipitation.

I listen, through the open window,
every morning, rain or shine,
down my quiet street,
over the hushed lawn,
on the leaves of flowers
on the wings of birds,
because I like to feel--
Today: pre-dawn, soft rain, honey scent of Buddleia, and a mourning dove.

A rainy Monday morning is salvaged from such thoughts.
