TheBanyanTree: So That's What the Outside is Like...

I haven't done much on the outside of the Trebby Cave of late because
it's either been blisteringly hot or pouring down rain on the days I
wasn't working or going out. So, though I'd have much rather been
doing something else, I took some time to hit the grass in the back
yard and start on the weedwacking of the front part of my house.
Now, the reason I had to be careful on my timing is that I sing the
lawnmower electric. To try and trim grass the day after a rainfall
can be quite a shocking experience. Plus I refuse to burn out my
grass, and I've even left the flowers to die off because I won't water
them in a drought watch. (Seeing people with their sprinklers on is
driving me mad--this means you, Mellon Bank.)
But today was a good day to hit the lawn, and also make my front look
a little better. It's still not perfect--the damned ivy I can't wait
to get rid of retained the water so I had to stop after a bit with the
weed wacker. But now it at least looks like I live here again.
I also hit the grill for the first time in a long while, grilling some
pork chops for later in the week and some SHEEISH Ka-Bob! (think Mel
Blanc) I underdid the kabobs a bit since I was out of practice on my
timing, but fortunately this is the age of the microwave, which fixes
any problems of grilling. :)
I did discover that my grill, which had handled all the weather thrown
at it, was a little worse for wear after the horrible storm and
humidity combo, so I need to look at that for the future. However, it
still grills a mean pork chop, so I don't have to worry too much. All
in all, it's good to be back outside again, even if it's a little
hotter than I'd like.
