Mine suck. Truly they do. But since we were still discussing the terms of my
employment, I thought I'd give it a shot. I asked for more money. And yeah,
I got it. Well, I had to give it a shot, didn't I? I'm the only female
manager, one of only 2 female employees in this entire company, and now I
gotta play with the boys. Boys negotiate. Boys demand more. Boys confront
and boys say, "This is what I'm worth. Pay me."

 

And what I was getting was satisfactory, entirely. But it was what was first
offered. So I had to ask for more, right? It's not a whole lot more. (Okay,
that's in relative terms of course.) But it is more.

 

It's my third official day on the job. Though I've been here for 2 months
already.
