another night, another day
another year upon the way
another death, another birth
another child upon the earth

the stars after another sun
another sun after the moon
another solstice 'twixt the stones
after midnight, another noon

another rain after the fire
after the wind the silent word
another ebb after the wave
after the egg another bird

another space between the tick,
after the dawn another morn
another road we did not pick
another calm before the storm

another day, another night
another darkening of light
another dusk, another dawn,
and both marked by another yawn.
