I don't think you are weird at all, Sharon.  The fact is, we like what 
we like, and many of us do like to cook and knit and crochet.  (I could 
skip the cleaning part, but at this point in my life it does feel 
somewhat soothing to create order out of chaos.)  If we had been given 
the choice about Home Ec or shop class, no doubt many would have still 
chosen Home Ec, but it would've been nice if there had been any choice 
in the matter.  When my kids were small, I chose to work half time so 
that I could be with them most of the day.  I really scraped by, but it 
was what I wanted to do.  Some of us like the home stuff, some of us 
like having an outside job, some of us like the combo platter.  It's 
cool that we have options in as far as we can keep a roof over our 
heads.
