Before we took the boys and Susan home, we drove by our new house. It
looked someone was there, so we just pulled into the driveway and stayed in
the car. Ray checks out the house almost every day since it’s on his way
home from work
My friend and I were out house-hunting, a few years ago, and we found the one
we wanted. The place was vacant, and had been for some time. We were weeks
from closing, but on a sunny afternoon, we would stop by a deli and buy some
lunch, then go out to the place, sit in the porch swing that had been left
there, and eat our lunch. I am sure we each pictured all the times we would be out
there, and what we would plant in the gardens, and what projects we would
first undertake.
Those lunch interludes were ther best therapy amidst the flurry of packing,
closing on the house I sold, and the daunting task of moving.
The porch swing in still there, by the way. And, we still have lunch out
there from time to time.
