We used to do that.  When I met my husband, I had an old Datsun 610 I 
called the Bungle Bee.  When that died, helped along by a drunk at a 
traffic light, we bought a golden tan Chevy Sprint we called the Sand 
Flea.  After that, we kinda got too busy with life to bother naming the 
cars.  Now we have "the van" and "the car".  Very creative, no?
