OK, I are an igineer and expect people to figure things out and do them right and I'm sure I don't understand all the nuances, but jees folks, why the heck can't we get this right?

I myself advocated patience until the facts were know, although I suppose expecting them to be is naive on my part, but after so many weeks had passed you would think we would know what to do and be well on the way to doing everything we could to help the victims of Katrina.

Why is it then that we now hear that FEMA is withdrawing promised aid an intends now to leave some of the displaced people "high and dry" (pun intended but not funny). It seems to me that the tendency would be to be overly generous to help remove some of the "stink" already attached to the situation, but instead FEMA is adding to the controversy.

Personally, I find it hard to imagine all these people have already been through, in fact I've been wondering why I haven't been hearing their stories, perhaps I haven't been listening. However, if I were there when the storm hit, I suspect I would be one of the dead. I think we, individually and collectively through our government, need to do everything in our power to ease the suffering of those who survived.

Mark
