This morning, while standing in line to await the grand opening of yet
another monolithic REI, I overheard the following from the group behind us,
speaking of someone who'd lost weight:
"He's lost so much of his stomach it's not even funny!"
Can someone please tell me when something of this significance IS funny? I
mean, is there a certain point at which losing weight becames not a comedy
anymore, but is suddenly serious business? When does this happen? How many
pounds are there in the funny stage, and at what point does one cross over
into the not funny stage?
I'd appreciate any info on this. I'm thinking of going on a diet, and I want
to know which part will have me in stitches, and at which point I'll have to
become serious, because I want to stop before then.
