TheBanyanTree: Fwd: Time to talk, time to go...

In memory of "The Spoon" and in celebration of "The Tree" I'd like to share my last posting to the spoon. One part has certainly come true - we have embraced new things: the tree. My only regret is that Wes isn't here sharing this with us.

>From February 18, 2000:

The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings." *

The above poem has been on my mind since Wes made the announcement.

How many things we've talked about. How we've laughed. How we've cried!

I've been hanging out in the ferns most of the time but I have ventured out from time to time and, I'm pleased to say, I received encouragement from Wes and others. I've certainly enjoyed the variety of postings and the positive, supportive tone. I'm sure it will feel strange when my special spoon inbox is no longer filled with the special glimpses you each share of your lives.

Yet, I agree with those of you who point out that it is time to celebrate. To celebrate how spoon has enriched our lives. To celebrate our own contributions and those of all the others we've grown to love. To celebrate the tireless contributions of Wes, Dee, and others. To celebrate the opportunity that Wes offers us to embrace new things.

Thank you spoon for being there for me.

"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none-- *
