 And the Angels Whispered 'Perfect'

Perfection is an spectral, unearthly hope
that seeks to impress itself upon
the mind as a thing of unerring splendor
of unmarred marble, and unmarked
petals of an uncut rose, safe in a garden.

But perfection is the lover's faith. Lovers
understand clear perfection as they embrace
the imperfections of love. In the heart perfect
love is the angel's whisper, 'Perfect' when
two beings combine in exquisite unisonance.

Where is the beauty of perfection found?
In the purity of a baby's first laughter,
the gentle hands of grandma's husband
as he brushes with utmost tenderness
the multi-colored grey tresses he loves?

Perfect timing is a grace all have sought.
the moment eyes meet across a room
and know a perfect moment of sublime
connection where none ever was. The one
first moment of love for two lives...perfection.

The perfect fit: Arms entwined, pressure
upon the small of the back from a lover's
embrace...the perfect movement of one head
on one shoulder, two mouths pressed in one
perfect kiss...the fit altogether perfect and sure.

The harmony of two, perfect melodies
heard by the angels who say to each other:
'Love is the one perfection' and smile in
Heaven's incarnation at those here blessed
with perfect love, in spite of blind bigotry.

Lover, perfection is yours, so take it.<br>
Heed not the sharp, jagged and false morals
of the strident screamer, the intolerant bigot
and the self-righteous. God Himself created
perfection in love wherever and whenever found.

Remember, perfection is the lover's faith. Lovers
understand clear perfection as they embrace
the imperfections of love. In the heart perfect
love is the angel's whisper, 'Perfect' when two
beings combine in exquisite unisonance.
