<DIV>I think I have created a monster! I say this because my apartment is
quickly filling up with vinyl babies. It started out innocently enough, my
daughter's birthday was coming up and a close friend wanted to give her a Lee
Middleton collector doll for her b-day. My friend has over 40 of these
collectable babies and they are adorable. Everytime we would visit, my
daughter would look longinly at the "babies" and hold one or two all the while
talking quietly to them. My daughter is Autistic so finding things that
will engage her and capture her imagination is a challenge. I figured, hey what
can it hurt, so for her b-day this past March she recieved a Lee Middleton
Collector doll complete with adoption certificate along with a ton of clothes to
change her into. </DIV>
<DIV>She named the doll Kayah Mercedes and just loved this doll baby. Changed
her clothes several times a day and then took her to bed with her at night.
About a month later she said she would like another one, so we went online and
she picked out the one she liked and bought it. This one is named Marinee
Cecile. Now she had two babies that she would talk to, take care of and love.
She began quoting my friend by saying that they were the perfect babies
because you didn't have to feed them or change their diapers and they never
cried or threw temper tantrums. There was a definate change in her since these
vinyl babies arrived. She was the Mama and I suddenly became the grandmom.

<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> Well it didn't stop there my "friend" decided she wanted
to get rid of some of her dolls in order to make room for newer ones
and asked me if I would like to purchase a "few" for way below the retail
price... yep, you guessed it I saw these babies and couldn't resist. Now we
are up to seven collector designer dolls.. the names Annie Grace, Angelique
Blue, Sophia Roberta, Gabriella Bonita, & Daphnie Michele, ...oh did I say
7? make that 8...today we went over to my dear friends <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :lol --><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> and
she showed my daughter one with red hair and a laughing face. My
daughter just drooled over her so the price being right... guess what we brought
home... yep Lilly Rose is the newest member of this household. I know I
should put a stop on anymore dolls but to see my
daughter finally engaged and delighted in something is worth all the
money in the world. Besides I kind of like being Grandmom to these
babies too.</DIV>
