I tried to harness the two horses to the calash, but the chestnut was 
feeling frisky, kicked the traces over, and ran off, leaving the four of 
us having to walk to town.  If we could have driven there, the folding 
roof of the calash would have kept us from getting rained on.  Damn horse.
