Maybe if you bring her here.  Over there, I'd probably pick up a 
rattler, thinking it was a dead stick.

One of the things the kids were most excited by was the way I picked up 
big ants (though not what we call bull ants, which can be 1.25" long). 
As I told them, ants don't sting the ground, and to them, I was just 
another piece of ground that they had run onto.
