Good idea. That worked, once. Seeing a towel thereafter would be a tip-off.
Scooping up a wisecat on the run would definitely be better with a towel than
bare-handed, though.

Same here on the ants. I tried an experiment with a easy to concoct
non-toxic mix that I found out about on the Web: 1 part baking soda, 1 part
powdered sugar, and a small bit of active dry yeast. Scout ants take it back
to the colony and it kills the queen. Saw some scout ants. Put about half a
teaspoon pile of the mix near them. The scouts were keenly interested. I've
never seen ants at that location again.
One of life's greatest certainties is that there will always be something to
worry about. So it's a more interesting and rewarding challenge for me to
become aware of and attend to pleasant things. Negative images are very
powerful and we're evolutionarily biased to give them top priority. I try to
shield myself, in the remains of my time, from bad news. I'm OK with
being ignorant. ; )
