TheBanyanTree: Ash's Secret Pond

We got home late last night, about 2 am, after seeing Linkin Park in Tacoma
-- it's a good two hour drive. It was a great concert, with all the
requisite screaming that comes from a good rock concert.

The dogs were annoyed at how late we were, but they manage fine without us.
We let them in the house, and noticed that Ash's bandanna, which he is
never without, was wet and muddy. This was odd. Then we noticed that Ash
himself was wet.

It had been dry all day, no rain, no water in the back yard, other than
their water bowl. We thought maybe had been caught in sprinkler action,
though we hadn't had ours on.

Honey was as dry as expected.

We were too tired to think anymore of it.

Today all was calm at home, and we left this evening for an hour or two.
When we came home, Honey was at the back door waiting to come in, but Ash
was nowhere to be found.

It was dark outside, and it's easy to misplace a black dog in the black
night, but further checking revealed no dog.

We called again, and then he appeared at the back of the yard, from behind
the big cedar tree in the corner. I've seen Honey and Ash back behind
there, but the foliage is so thick we can't see much behind there.

He was soaking wet this time.

Further investigation revealed that he had dug a hole under the fence,
giving him access to the silicon plant's property, where resides a big ol'
retaining pond. We don't know what's in the pond, other than water, and
run-off from their plant, but we're certainly going to find out tomorrow.

Ash is annoyed that his secret has been found out, and his hold barricaded,
but I think he'll get over it.
