Two lovely stories about fathers - thank you for sharing.  It is wonderful
to hear about a son's experience with his father, as I only know the
daughter's perspective.  

As I get older, I get a bit more forgiving of my father and our lack of a
close relationship. I think it has a lot to do with experiencing and
understanding the challenges of being an adult and a parent on top of
personal demons.  Like Chris, I was a little stunned when my father recently
mentioned something I wrote (on Facebook - but it's a start!), as I never
thought he took the slightest bit of interest in what I did.  Shows how much
I know - another great learning as I get older. :)
