Subject: TheBanyanTree: Thelma or Louise?

Years and years (and years!) ago, my best friend Carla and I became 'Thelma
and Louise'... I could not tell you HOW it started - but I'll bet she
could! While she may be five years OLDER than me, she's got a heckuva lot
better memory!! Ever hear that saying, 'You'll be my friend forever! You
have to because you know all my secrets!!'. Well not only does Carla know
them, she remembers way more of the details today than *I* do!!!

Anyway, there we were, two chicks hanging out together, and we got the
moniker of 'Thelma and Louise'. We even had license plates for the fronts
of our cars. Knowing Carla, she still has hers though I'm not sure what
happened to mine when I bought this last car that didn't have a place on
the front for it. But I wish it was in front of me now because I can't
remember if I was Thelma, or Louise!! Seems like it was Thelma, but, maybe
Louise.

And the only reason I'm thinking about it now and even care is because I
just finished watching the movie. I am ashamed to admit that before today,
I'd never even watched it! Oh, I knew it was about two chicks who got
ticked off at men and ended up on a crime spree and then drove off a cliff.
No, that's not *exactly* how the movie went, but all these years it was
close enough. Meanwhile, was I Thelma?! She whined and cried!! Of
course, there came times in the movie when Louise did her share of crying
as well!! Thelma was married to a jerk who had tight control over her,
but then Louise put up with a lot of crap from her man too.

Louise did the first shooting, but Thelma turned out to be a bad-ass with a
gun as well... Am I more Thelma, or Louise?!

Makes me wonder if Carla ever actually saw the movie either! Guess next
time we chat I should ask!!

Thelma

or, Louise
