I don't do gluten-free but even I thought this sounded deelish. It also sounds like you need to make a trip to the grocery store....ha ha ha ha ha!

I sooo wanted something to eat that would stick to my ribs before I went out hunting this evening so I headed to the cupboard to look for a box of Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff.  I thought I could easily substitute the noodles with some gluten free noodles of some kind.  There was no more  Hamburger Helpers of any variety in there... rats... I must have sent them to my daughter when I started this gluten free kick.

ok... So I went in search on the internet for a recipe.  I found the following on allrecipes.com  Easy Beef Stroganoff:

1 12 ounce package egg noodles cooked and drained.
6 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter
2 pounds lean ground beef
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 cup sour cream
salt and pepper to taste

So it was back to my cupboards to get the ingredients...

hmmm... hate mushrooms and don't have any
no more onions left either
no more beef bouillion cubes

So improvise it was.

I put about 1 tablespoon onion powder,
ground beef and 1/4 cup of butter in the frying pan.

I opened up a package of McCormick Brown Gravy Mix and put that in a measuring cup with 2 cups of water.  I added in 4 tablespoons of gluten free all purpose flour and wisked until dissolved.

I added that to the completely cooked ground beef mixture and wisked until it started to thicken.  I went to the refrig to grab the sour cream and what do you know... none!!!

I had used the last of it last night when I threw in a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix.  I thought... what the heck... let's see where this is going.  If it's not eatable, I'm sure the cat will like it... lol

Sooo... a cup of ranch dressing mix in sour cream went into the mixture.

Stirred but didn't let it boil and took it off the burner.

I found a box of Schar brand Gluten free Tagliatelle noodles and cooked them up.

A heaping spoonful of noodles and a generous layer of sauce... and I gotta tell ya... that was the most Delicious Mistake I've ever eaten :0)))
