I am sad to know that she left us. I will continue to miss her for
some time to come. I'll always remember the phone conversations I had with her
on two occasions. She was a pure delight to talk to. And she was pure delight
to read as well.
I participate on the list nowadays by reading the Archives when the notion
strikes me. And from a quick check of those Archives it looks to me that Dee
did not post to the UB List since Sunday, January 17th, 2010.
If that's correct, that's approximately two weeks that she didn't post
anything at all to the list. In retrospect, that seems so unlike her.
I'm thinking it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that she may well have been
ill and hid it from us those last two weeks. That remains conjecture, of
course.
Both she and Cecil left us in the same manner. We did have some preparatory
missives from family in Cecil's case but it seems that Dee's passing occurred
without an overt warning of the nearing inevitable.
Dee's passing also reminds me that that inevitability awaits me as well. Oh,
to be so blessed as Cecil and Dee to exit to the next stage of life in my
sleep as well.
