take winter as your lover
and feel snow’s cold full against your skin.
play the absent sun and let
your hot heart melt into the ground.

kiss spring upon the mouth
and feel the earth’s tongue press against your own.
touch the urgent loam and feel
the green shoots rise into your hands.

call summer to your bower
and let sun play tender on your bones.
close your fiery eyes and let
the warm world whisper in your dreams.

fall into autumn’s arms
amid the thick, spent pile of drowsy leaves.
hear the softened murmur
of a sated lover calling you to sleep.
