blown sideways wildly
river beyond its boundaries.

Drifts frozen hard
catch the rain
making a slick pond.

Under the snow
the water flows
racing down basement stairs

Cold floor puddles
soaking dirty clothes
sorted to be washed.

Deep night winds
blow away rain
and dry the puddles.

set below stairs
dries up basement puddles.
