my grudge with spell check is official
fed up with humiliation by stupidity in my e mails
maddening errors dismissed by software with a lazy eye
and no understanding of context whatsoever
no command of the spoken English language knitted
together with organic expertise powered by soul and passion
which wouldn't for a minute consider leaving "of" in place of "if"
which changes the entire meaning of a line and always reminds me
after the fact too late the ship has sailed that
spell check
is an untrustworthy
soulless
indifferent non-entity
cold with efficiency
ignoring nuances of spoken coherent language and so
no
I am not a dunce
especially after the coffee's kicked in
