TheBanyanTree: A FAVORITE MEMORY OF BROTHER PATRICK~

Lately my sister and 3 brothers have hit a nostalgic place in our lives.
We're all getting older (the babies, who are identical twins, are 53, my
sister is 56 and my brother, Patrick is 59 and I am 60), maybe that's why.  

 

I put one of those memories into a poem and they all enjoyed it.  We all had
a good laugh (or a gentle smile) over it.

 

A FAVORITE MEMORY OF BROTHER PATRICK~

 

One of my favorite

memories as a kid was,

brother Patrick.

Not only did he eat

sister Elizabeth's veggies

but, every now and then,

he'd do the same

for the rest of us. 

Dad would leave the table,

Mom would be busy

putting stuff away

and without their notice,

Pat would snag a spoon

or two

of his favorite

and our least favorite...

veggies!

 

Afterward we'd say,

"Thanks Pat" 

and he would punch us

in the arm.

 

Now I eat

my own vegetables...

and the bruise

on my arm

is almost gone.
