TheBanyanTree: end of an era

I think I began this life isolated from this phenom and didn't experience
the euphoria of the one close village but had a glimpse when married to a
guy from Iowa with a close knit family.  Close knit and coming to the rescue
of anyone at anytime for anything.  Then again, close knit and in y'alls
business at every turn and nothing was sacred let alone private.

No fence to catch up on the gossip......no fence to start any.  No central
church to see all your neighbors; no central church to shun all other forms
of religion.

I would miss the feed store, too.  But then I'd also never have to know
about the hound's sixth litter and have to wonder what happens to the pups
if they don't find a good home.  I love nostalgia; I'm torn by its two
faces.

Introspection can be hell.
