School doesn't always happen in the classroom. Today we learned some bright gems of
wisdom in the kitchen.
Onions get stronger as you get closer to the root. That means the sweet, mild slice you had
on your sandwich yesterday is not an accurate indicator of the flavor of the next slice, which
you put on your sandwich today.
('scuse me while I get some water...)
The toaster oven is a great place to toast marshmallows on top of graham crackers.
However, if you must leave the room for a moment while they are toasting, and the smoke
alarm goes off before you return, the marshmallows are probably done. If you're lucky,
there won't be any actual flames.
Rob's corallary to the marshmallow law: No matter how many marshmallows, more than
one, of course, you toast in the toaster oven, there will always be one more than you can
actually eat.
