fingers twigged in bone
umbrella lost before the storm
on a dark flap home
hot naked ugly bird
upended, exists
scoop-eared dog face
twisted in the devil's fist
a soft leathery flutter against the grain,
waves of screams in utter silence
erratic orbits in the rain, perfect
ellipses to a hidden sense
upside down, nightside up
mother cavern father moon
give shelter, give beacon
to this dogged demon pup.
