TheBanyanTree: Waiting for Answers

Standard issue waiting time for an answer to a question from most
government departments is 4 to 6 weeks. Of course the Ombudsman takes
much longer. I've been waiting for his answer to my last question for
the last 5 1/2 months which, added to the 8 months I waited before that,
makes his and his staff very unresponsive indeed.

But the SSAT promises to give you an answer within two weeks and, for
the first time ever in this saga, the responsible agency has done better
for us than their benchmarks require. The letter came today.

We won. The SSAT agrees that the course my son was doing was a level A
course and his application for Austudy should have been approved. Now
we have to wait 28 days to see if Centrelink will appeal.

How wonderful it will be when all this is finally over.

Janice
