  This is a story which began fifty-six years ago when Gary was born 
with a defective artery. In 1972 he suffered a cerebral haemorrhage when 
the artery burst. Since then (although he held down a full-time job 
until retiring a year or so ago) he has had no feeling or sensation in 
his left side from shoulder to foot.

I met Gary two weeks ago when I went into my ISP's office to renew my 
membership. He was the day's volunteer - the ISP service is run by the 
PC Users Group in Canberra - and as he handled the transaction I could 
not help but notice how his left arm lay limp and helpless across his 
body. With the sight came a burst of energy, something which as an 
energy healer I react to, whether it is from living organisms or 
inanimate objects.

When our business was finished I asked Gary about his arm and he told me 
his story. Using a crystal pendulum I tested his energy reaction in his 
good hand and was astounded by the strength of it, far in excess of any 
reading I have come across before. There was no reaction at all in his 
other hand but even so I was guided to a feeling that a change in the 
right direction was possible.

Last Friday I gave Gary a hands-on Reiki treatment. Really I should say 
I led the human component of the team which gave the treatment for there 
were two other healers 'plugged' into the circuit, one from Oregon and 
one from SE New South Wales, and all three of us have very strong 
spiritual connections. At the end of the treatment which lasted a little 
over an hour and while he was still on the table I asked him how he 
felt. Relaxed, he said, which was hardly surprising - he had been asleep 
for about ten minutes.

A short while later when we were both standing I asked him again. "OK, 
except for my left foot," he answered. "It's very sore."  I saw then 
that he was smiling. "I have had no feeling in that foot since it 
happened all those years ago!"

As I came away I wondered what I/we/they had done. Had started, really; 
Gary has another  treatment scheduled for this Thursday coming, 2pm.
