TheBanyanTree: Snowman Poem

the dawn reveals the fresh snowfall
so thick it muffles hearing
the radio closed schools today
all the children cheering

closet doors
thrown open wide
hats and coats are flying
boots and scarves
and mittened hands
mother's kiss, good-byeing

no time to waste, put down your skates
we start out with a snow ball
it's time to roll, it's time to make
a creature from the snowfall

coal black eyes
a carrot nose
father's pipe asmoulder
stocking cap
a borrowed scarf
laid across the shoulders

a moonlit night, out in the yard
our snowman coldly sleeping
here today but he may fade
when the sun comes creeping
