TheBanyanTree: Feedback

Someone mentioned to me recently that there seems to be a lack
of feedback to posts here in the Tree. I've noticed it
myself. So I thought I'd comment on it here, and see what
some of y'all think about it.
When I write, it's because there are words, thoughts, and
feelings inside of me that need to come out. I can yell at
the kids, or chat to my husband, but sometimes the blank looks
and "yes, dear"s are just not the kind of response I really
want. And sometimes, it's not something I want to share with
the kids, or the hubby is involved in something else and
really isn't interested right then. So, y'all get stuck with
it.
I don't really expect a ton of mail in response to everything
I write. It's nice, yeah, but not necessary for me to
continue writing.
I know I don't write very often anymore. I used to sit down
and write every time a stray thought struck me. Then my kids
got older and quit taking naps (<sigh> I remember nap time
quite fondly!), and then they quit going to bed before 8pm,
and *then* we started this homeschooling, where they are
actually on my computer from morning til afternoon! Now I get
maybe 3 hours of computer time total in a day. My husband has
first chance at it between dinner time and his bed time, so I
have to wait until after 9pm to get on the system. I'm not
complaining, that's plenty of time to do the necessary stuff;
finances, lesson plans, check the news and weather, and even
occasionally read my mail and respond. It just doesn't leave
much time for composition.
I guess my whole point is, if you are writing for the pat on
the back, please say so; there are plenty of folks here who
would be happy to let you know they're paying attention. If
you are writing for yourself, and just wondering if there
really is anybody out there, rest assured, we're here. At
least, I am! I faithfully read every single Banyan Tree post.
If one happens to elicit a major response, a tear, a belly
laugh, a gasp of horror, I will send a short "wow that was
great" post. Otherwise I just read post after post with a
satisfied smile on my face, happy to be in such company.
