--------------080901020500030806020501-- From paul@remsset.com Wed Mar 12 00:32:10 2003 From: paul@remsset.com (paul) Date: Tue, 11 Mar 2003 18:32:10 -0600 Subject: TheBanyanTree: just testing In-Reply-To: <3E6E5E56.8030905@iline.com> Message-ID: <000301c2e82e$d1fdb540$0100a8c0@emu> Yep, like snow and ice-cream Ok. Suggestions for the web interface? Add a picture? Same one from the yahoo site or a different one? Add the text from the yahoo site? Same or edited? Add links to the yahoo site? I have already played in the html to replace server includes that would print (for example) "About Thebanyantree" so the page would say "About TheBanyanTree". Gotta make it pretty, right? I've already messed with the footer. How's it look? I have looked and I do not find an option to send only plain text.... but maybe folks will take it easy on wallpapers and colors and sending pictures to the list. Max message size is 40 kb. Over that bounces. That should take care of the odd post from Monique that has the same thing in html file attached. After supper I'm going to remove the line on the bottom of the page that says "Thebanyantree list run by paul@remsset.com, sachet@iline.com, wolfljsh@insightbb.com" and replace it with a mailto link for the admin address. Or do we want it to say "Thebanyantree list run by paul@remsset.com, red_clay@mail3.newnanutilities.org, sachet@iline.com, wolfljsh@insightbb.com, woofie@woffess.com". I think a line telling folks to send inquires to the admin address is plenty. Just in case... you gotta watch for the spambots. The gifs at the bottom can go or stay.... they don't bother me. (they are not required) Ok, well, enough for the moment. I'm off to sub GOn 11 Mar 2003 , paul made this statement:Ooh! All nice and shiny!Kewl! With My Eyes That You Now Have
With my eyes that you now have, I have seen many facets of the world. = I have=20 seen myself pull out record breaking trout out of small, cool, tree = covered=20 streams where the warm rays of sun dance through the branches as hawk = circles=20 above. I have watched turkeys leave their roosts in the early morning = sky as=20 they gently glide to the farmer's fields looking for their first feed of = the=20 day. I've shared while camoflauged in the sight of seeing the Doe gently = nudge=20 and teach her fawn into staying close by her side as she teaches the = little one=20 what to look for and eat. I have watched bear with her three cubs = playing a game=20 of leapfrog all the way across the damp swamp stopping here and there = for a=20 gentle tackle and roll as they play there way to their den.
I remember seeing the blue grasses of Kentucky swaying in the gentle = breeze=20 as I made a trip to the Grand Ole Opry and sketching a permanent memory = in my=20 mind to keep for life. I remember making the trip to Seattle Washington = to see=20 the Space Needle thinking how small everything is getting the higher we = climb to=20 the top. I remember walking aboard the huge C-17's that my one son use = to=20 navigate while serving his country for the Air Force wondering how this = huge=20 piece of metal could ever go airborn.
I have watched this beautiful woman become my wife, then Mother, then = Grandmother as her gentle nurturing still shines through to this day. I = have=20 seen my children grow and go off on their own as they become parents = themselves=20 bringing along some of our teachings to pass down. I was even fortunate = to watch=20 my Great Granddaughter see me with her eyes and smile back at me while I = made=20 funny faces to her.
I have seen death but I have also witnessed life with each accident = scene I=20 was called to as we rescued people from burning buildings or crushed = vehicles. I=20 have watched the miraculous efforts of life flight as they take off or = land=20 bringing in yet another person in hopes of another chance at living. I = remember=20 the expressions of troubled teens as the many police officers introduced = them to=20 the reality of Dare and Scared Straight programs and relished in seeing = the ones=20 that turned their life around because of the officers hard work and = effort.
I have seen the sun set and rise every day of my life as God paints = beautiful=20 colors on that enormous canvas we call sky. I have watched tree's change = from=20 first brown budded tips to lush greens then bright oranges, yellows and = gold=20 going back to bare stems as the many seasons of the year pass through. I = have=20 seen storms forming off in the distance and watched as they gained = strength=20 passing overhead and wondering just how tall those clouds were with the = massive=20 thunderheads. I have gazed to the night sky countless times in awe of = their=20 ability to sparkle counting the endless shooting stars that streamed = before me=20 making a wish on everyone keeping it secret to my heart only.
With these very eyes that you now have, I have seen Life. I have seen = Love. I=20 have seen the world. With my gift that has been handed to you, what do = you see=20 now?
Be a Donor, won't you please? Do it for Love. Do it for Life. Do it = for=20 someone to have a second chance at the world. That was my Father's wish = as=20 respected by our family. I can't help but smile everytime I think about = it.=20 Because of Sammie, someone out there has hope. Because of him, someone = out there=20 is having a chance at seeing their world.=20
