LIGHTHOUSE STORY by LaRose Karr

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they
may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.



God’s word tells us in Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a
light unto my path.



Having been born seventy-five miles from the Atlantic Ocean in southeast
Georgia, I identify my roots with sand, ocean and lighthouses.  As a child
my father took us to Georgia each summer to visit relatives.  Our summer
vacations would not have been complete without a trip to the beach.



Jekyll Island and St. Simon’s Islands located along the coastline of
southeastern Georgia held many adventures, among them a lighthouse.
Climbing to the top of the lighthouse gave us a glimpse of another world.
