	jewels kissed into cognizance by
	southern breezes blown in through
	open sashes first flung since october
	sat cooling on the calendar.

	bundled neurons for brains, bumbling
	awake and addled, mistake the lamp
	for the light of spring's sun, outside
	boiling winter's bones into cloudness.

	crawl back, crawl back, the compass
	cocked and the pole star swung,
	the house wall's hold weakens and all
	eyes are fixed on god's garden.
