jewels kissed into cognizance by
southern breezes blown in through
open sashes first flung since october
sat cooling on the calendar.
bundled neurons for brains, bumbling
awake and addled, mistake the lamp
for the light of spring's sun, outside
boiling winter's bones into cloudness.
crawl back, crawl back, the compass
cocked and the pole star swung,
the house wall's hold weakens and all
eyes are fixed on god's garden.
